Why join the AEJMC Visual Communication Division?

The AEJMC Visual Communications Division is the largest and most prestigious international, nonprofit organization for visual communication educators and media professionals. We network and form friendships with visual communication peers. We participate in the one-of-a-kind mentoring program as both a mentor and mentee. You receive a free subscription to the division’s top-notch research journal, Visual Communication Quarterly. We stay on top of current research in visual communication and are the first to find out about visual communication faculty job openings worldwide.


To become a member of the AEJMC Visual Communication division, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the AEJMC website (
  2. Click on the "Membership" tab in the top menu.
  3. Select "Join AEJMC" from the drop-down menu.
  4. Choose the type of membership that you want to apply for (e.g., regular, student, etc.).
  5. Follow the prompts to fill out the application form, including your personal information, educational background, and research interests.
  6. When you get to the "Select Divisions and Interest Groups" section of the application, make sure to select the "Visual Communication" division.
  7. Pay the membership fee by following the payment instructions provided.
  8. Once your application and payment have been processed, you will receive a confirmation email with your membership information.
