Communication Consulting Virtual Roundtables

Who? DC-based nonprofit organizations/community partners addressing a variety of needs

What? PRD members will pair with nonprofit/community partner representatives in Washington, DC, to discuss communication challenges and/or areas of opportunity. Nonprofit representatives will provide information on their communication challenges and/or areas of opportunity and then team with a small group of PRD members according to their expertise during the communication consulting virtual roundtables (e.g., crisis planning, fundraising, social media strategies, volunteer recruitment, media relations). The PF&R committee will also make an effort to invite nonprofit representatives to the conference site for informal meet-ups with the PRD members.

When? Tuesday, August 1, 2-4 p.m. Eastern Time (note: a week prior to the start of the in-person AEJMC conference)

Where? Zoom video conference (with breakout rooms) for the communication consulting virtual roundtable + optional, informal meet-up with during the in-person conference in DC (details will be shared)

Why? PF&R's five pillars are: free expression, ethics, media criticism and accountability, diversity and inclusion, and public service. In the past two years, the PF&R committee has sought creative ways to move outside of the conference confines and has successfully hosted virtual community giveback programs to make an immediate impact in the host city/region by allowing PRD members to use their communication expertise to provide pro bono consulting services for pre-identified nonprofit organizations/community partners.

How do nonprofits sign up? If you would like to participate, please complete the online registration (URL: https://forms.gle/hyM2iuq6cfByqWbv9) by Monday, July 3, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Registrants will receive a confirmation email once they have been paired with an organization.
