Current Membership Rates (Oct. 1, 2021 – Sept. 20, 2022)

  • Lifetime Member $5,000 – $5,200 (US & Canada) [NEW]
    (Two payment options: Pay in full ($5,000) or pay in four yearly installments ($1,300 per installment for a total of $5,200) – if you choose the installment option, you will receive the free conference registration upon payment completion.)
    Anyone may choose to be a lifetime member. Includes automatic renewal. Dues include one conference registration per year for the duration, a yearly invitation to the President’s Reception held at the conference, a special recognition pin to wear and recognition in the conference program. Dues entitle lifetime members to issues of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Communication Monographs and AEJMC News.

  • Regular Member $140 (US & Canada)
    Faculty members in the U.S. and Canada engaged in journalism and mass communication education. Dues entitle regular members to issues of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Communication Monographs and AEJMC News.

  • Associate Member $140
    Professionals, other than faculty, dealing with journalism and mass communication education. Dues entitle associate members to issues of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Communication Monographs and AEJMC News.

  • Adjunct Member $75
    Professionals serving as adjunct faculty at the college level, dealing with journalism and communication education. Dues entitle adjunct members to issues of Journalism & Mass Communication Educator and AEJMC News.

  • Student Member $50
    Graduate students in journalism and mass communication not eligible for regular membership. Dues entitle student members to issues of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Communication Monographs and AEJMC News.

  • Retired Member (w/ periodicals) $55
    (No dues payment, but there is a periodicals surcharge.)
    When Regular members retire, they may elect to remain Regular members or to become Retired Regular members, effective at the beginning of their next membership year. Retired Regular members shall remain on the membership roll without dues for life, retaining all rights and privileges of a Regular member with two options: “Retired without Periodicals” status will received only the newsletter AEJMC News; “Retired with Periodicals” status will pay a periodicals surcharge to receive, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Communication Monographs, Online Journalism & Mass Communication Directory and AEJMC News.

  • Retired Member $0
    (No dues payment and does not receive periodicals.)

  • International Member $120
    Faculty members engaged in journalism and mass communication education in institutions of higher learning outside the U.S. and Canada. International members must have an address outside the U.S. and Canada. Dues entitle international members to issues of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism & Communication Monographs and AEJMC News. Mail for international members travels by air mail.

  • Spouse $ 25
    Individuals who qualify as a Regular Member, but are married to Regular Members. Spouse members receive no AEJMC publications, except AEJMC News.
