AEJMC 109th Annual Conference
Jazz & Jambalaya: Nurturing Harmony and Health in Higher Education
Join AEJMC in New Orleans, Louisiana, August 5-8 for our annual conference. Jazz & Jambalaya: Nurturing Harmony and Health in Higher Education is the theme of the AEJMC 2026 Conference. AEJMC’s presidential leadership team believes the AEJMC 2026 conference theme to reflect both the meeting location and the needs of our members.
Jazz and jambalaya are iconic symbols of New Orleans, showcasing the rich histories and diverse contributions of those who have called the Crescent City home over the centuries. As a musical style, jazz features spontaneous combinations of notes and unconventional syncopations to create harmonies that uplift the spirit while reflecting life's highs and lows. As a hearty dish, jambalaya combines rice, vegetables, and meats with various spices to nourish the body while representing culinary traditions from many cultures, including West Africa (Benin, Nigeria, Senegal, Guinea), Spain, and France.
