Position Highlights: The Department of Communication, University of Arizona, invites applications for two career-track assistant professor of practice positions in Public Relations (PR). The preferred start date is Fall 2025 but Spring 2026 will be considered. The ideal candidate will be able to teach both introductory and advanced PR classes, such as PR Research, PR Writing, Social Media Strategy and PR Campaigns. Successful candidates will have training and experience in the instruction of Public Relations.

Duties & Responsibilities: We seek candidates who will (a) contribute to the department’s teaching mission in the new PR Major and the existing PR Minor. We seek candidates who will contribute to the department’s teaching mission in the recently approved PR Major and the existing PR Minor.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a Master’s degree in the field of PR or related discipline, and evidence of teaching excellence, or strong industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing PR classes and/or curriculum design.
  • Experience and desire to work with student professional organizations.
  • Applicants with a Ph.D. in PR or related discipline are also encouraged to apply.
  • Successful candidates will have training and experience in the instruction of Public Relations.
