Lecturer in Multimedia Journalism

The Media School at Indiana University Bloomington seeks Journalism professionals interested in transitioning to education and mentoring the next generation of multimedia journalists.
We invite applications for a full-time non-tenure-track faculty position in Journalism. We seek candidates with senior experience in broadcast journalism as well as a deep understanding of how the field of MMJ is changing in the new technological environment. Ideal candidates have experience mentoring young professionals and/or adjunct teaching experience at the university level. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree preferred, though significant professional experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced academic degree. Ideal candidates will also be those who have worked professionally in major media markets. Those hired would teach three courses per semester (fall and spring), including the course sequence that produces IU NewsNet journalism broadcast. The ideal candidate would also be able to act as the faculty advisor for IUSTV.

The teaching statement should describe why you want to teach and reflect on your philosophy of teaching and learning as well as concrete ways you have put that into practice.
