Student Newspaper Coordinator, Temporary
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following temporary position: Student Newspaper Coordinator in the Office of Student Affairs.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in media administration, preferably in a college or university setting. Experience training and mentoring student staff.
Preferred: Master's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide editorial advice and direction to the student newspaper across both digital and print platforms, and advise the editorial board in newsroom management and operations
- Recruit, select, train, and advise the student editorial team. Coordinate and provide editorial training for student staff members to support student success. Seek and oversee educational opportunities including conferences, workshops, and professional development opportunities for students in Student Media.
- Serve as advisor for the student newspaper. Mentor students on journalistic ethics, news judgment, and editorial independence.
- Provide administrative support by monitoring budget, and serving as the primary point of contact.
Temporary staff position. (TP0598/NS01416P). Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience and ranges from $30.00 to $35.00 per hour. Twenty (20) hours per week, hours vary. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Occasional travel is required.
