The Commission on Graduate Education (CSGE) is excited to offer the CSGE Traveling Closet (TC) at the 2025 AEJMC Conference in San Francisco, CA. The TC will be open during conference registration hours. Located in the Student Lounge, student attendees are welcome to visit the TC to grab gently used professional style clothing items for conference needs at no cost.
For those of you interested in donating items to the TC, we will have a place at the conference registration desk to do so. We are looking for clothing items that can be worn at conference programs (including those for Midwinter and Southeast Colloquium). This could include button-up shirts, blouses, blazers, pants, dresses, and ties.
“When we became the Commission on Graduate Education, it was no longer our sole goal of ours to put on research competitions or sponsor conference programming,” said Patrick Johnson, CSGE head. “We wanted more than anything to be the advocates of our student members, including if and when undergraduate students become a part of this organization. By becoming a commission, we achieved equality within the organization. Now it is our mission to achieve equity, and to do this we have worked diligently to center student need in what we do. This includes the newest conference addition: the Traveling Closet. The TC gives us a chance to help make space for students in a way that has been invisible. And by making it visible, we are hoping we move one step closer toward a more equitable organizational future.”
