About the Nominations and Elections Committee
Purpose:
The Nominations and Elections Committee serves as the backbone of AEJMC’s leadership development and governance process. More than simply suggesting names, this committee acts as AEJMC’s talent scout—identifying, evaluating, and recommending individuals who align with our mission, values, and strategic direction.
Role of Committee Members:
This committee defines the desired mix of skills and experiences needed on the board and elected association leadership, actively searches for qualified and diverse candidates, and conducts interviews and reference checks to ensure the right fit. Beyond recruitment, the committee also assesses current leadership composition to identify gaps, promotes diversity and inclusion, and supports succession planning for future leadership roles.
