About the Committee on Career Development
Purpose:
The AEJMC Committee on Career Development works to implement plans for institutionalizing career service sessions, foster coordination among AEJMC DIG groups that conduct career development sessions, and organize its own unique, recurring events focused on career advancement. The committee also supports AEJMC initiatives that assist underrepresented groups in journalism and mass communication education.
Role of Committee Members:
The AEJMC Committee on Career Development is charged with advancing initiatives that strengthen professional growth and career pathways for educators, scholars, and students in journalism and mass communication. The committee is composed of a chair and at least eight members, appointed by the AEJMC President. Members meet throughout the year to plan, implement, and assess committee activities, ensuring alignment with AEJMC’s mission and strategic priorities in career development.
