Volume 10, Number 1, 2020
Editor's Note
The first part of 2020 was disruptive, to say the least, for educators across the globe. Besides taking precautions against the pandemic, educators faced short-notice closure of their campuses. Moving learning to online was new to many educators, but also new and unsettling to students. Some educators reported their workload increased 50 percent because of the pandemic knock-on effects.
Hence, TJMC wants to thank everyone who had a part in producing this issue and getting it out on time. Authors in particular were crucial to submit, re-draft, and proof the articles. We would be no place without the fabulous reviewers and copyeditors who devote time and expertise to these articles.
In addition, the dedicated production team continued to design and upload these valuable articles on schedule the same as over the past few years.
Whether you are in lockdown or back to normal, this issue of TJMC has stimulating research to digest and perhaps incorporate in your own teaching. One article looks at motivation for curriculum changes, such as one institute’s new curriculum that focused less on practical skills and more on research and theory. Another article analysed strengths of relying on formal student-groups in the classroom. Two articles looked specifically at changes in industry and teaching brought about by the pandemic.
