The Religion and Media Interest Group is dedicated to the study of how religion as a social and cultural phenomenon broadens the understanding of mass communication. It is an organization of scholars and media professionals that promotes the discussion of media and religion from social scientific, historical, philosophical, and other scholarly perspectives. RMIG encourages research dedicated to a full range of religious traditions, including, but not limited to: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and new/alternative religious movements.
