CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:
2026 TEACHING AWARDS

Nomination Deadlines:
January 12, 2026 or March 27, 2026

The Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication invites nominations for two awards opportunities to recognize outstanding advertising educators: 

  1. The 2026 Early Career Teaching Excellence Award (first-round nominations are due January 12, 2026)
     
  2. The 2026 Distinguished Teaching Award (nominations are due March 27, 2026)

Both awards recognize individual excellence in undergraduate teaching. All nominees must be current members of the AEJMC Advertising Division. The award recipient will receive a $500 prize and will be recognized at the Advertising Division's business meeting during the 2026 AEJMC annual conference in New Orleans, LA.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
2026 WMSF GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP


Submission Deadline: 
May 15, 2026

The Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication welcomes applications for the WMSF (Washington Media Scholars Foundation) Graduate Research Scholarship! 

This $500-$1,000 scholarship supports graduate student research in the field of advertising, with a focus on projects that have the potential to be published in an academic journal. Funding may be used for thesis or dissertation research, though it is not limited to those projects.

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of the award and be members of the AEJMC Advertising Division at the time of submission.

2026 WMSF GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP

The Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication welcomes applications for the 2026 Webtoon Emerging Scholar Award, sponsored by Webtoon!

This award supports graduate student research in advertising and marketing communication, particularly projects examining topics related to foreign brands entering the North American market. Proposed studies may focus on areas such as branding strategies, advertising and marketing communications, market expansion, audience culture, or audience research. Webtoon may be included as a focal brand, but is not required.

Awards include:
• Webtoon Emerging Scholar Award – $1,000
• Graduate Research Honorable Mention – $200

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of the award and be members of the AEJMC Advertising Division at the time of submission.

To apply, submit a research proposal, budget overview, timeline, and CV in a single PDF by Friday, May 15, 2026, 11:59 CDT.
